Jay-Z’s reinnovated clothing/ lifestyle brand RocaWear is scheduled to release the R+ Sneaker in June. Jay-Z must act fast as his protege Kanye West seems to be really taking over the fashion scene in a major way. Jay-Z may need to put down his Air Yeezys to let eveyone know that he was really the forefather of hip hop artists jumping into fashion. Even though his last run with Reebok, the S. Carter editions didn’t do to well. But maybe the rejuvenation of RocaWear will be able to give a great promotional push to the Rocawear R+. This is a look at the first colorway to drop June 1st in Black and Red, not really sure if there will be campouts for these but who knows so stay tuned. Because just to let you know Jay-Z is HOVA and the best rapper that ever rapped with the vision that can get you to a status that is hard to reach, so big ups to both Kanye and Jay-Z. Rumors about VIBE Media Group filing for bankruptcy are completely false and have absolutely no merit
0 comments Posted by MEASURED MEDIA at 6:49 AMEarlier this month 48Bars posted an article stating that Vibe Magazine was about to fold. We have recieved information stating otherwise.
Official Statement on Behalf of VIBE Media Group:
"Rumors about VIBE Media Group filing for bankruptcy are completely false and have absolutely no merit. The source of this false rumor is a disgruntled blogger who didn't make VIBE's 50 Top Rap Blogs list posted last week.
In fact, an announcement was made this morning about the launch of a new VIBE Media Group property, The MOST!. Click to read the article that ran this morning on Media Bistro and attached is the press release. Pam Workman VP Publicity

I met Ayanna Muhammad (known to many as Red Summer) in Chi-town many years back. We maintained a respectable relationship throughout high school and college. Recently, I had the opportunity to sit down with her and believe me when I tell you that this was a very gargantuan task. As we chatted in a café in East Atlanta she broke down to me what she has on her plate.
To put in plain and simple Red Summer is a Poet…. she considers herself a narrator -a "clear story teller"-with freestyle verses!" Born into a Muslim family who owned several businesses...Red Summer has kept in touch with that entrepreneurial spirit and began her own publishing company -"Two Fingers Press." She has a very positive and real message that she has developed from being a mother. Her maternal instinct has helped her realize that we all are accountable for the words that we speak.
Let me let you in on a little “industry” news Red Summer dropped on me. Lupe Fiasco dug into his pockets & made a few videos for his debut CD "Food & Liquor". One of the videos was for my favorite track "He Say She Say". In the short film Red Summer played the mother ("I tried to make him understand that I‘m his number one fan..."). The suites wasn’t feeling it, so it was never released. To quote Dame Dash…"they don’t know shit about our culture!!!"
Recently Red Summer competed in the Women of the World Poetry Slam. Summer and her team which consists of publicist/film maker Carlos Saqiid, business manager Mutsia Stewart, and promoter Jennifer Lil John has been working diligently to promote/release her Book- “Chasing Summer” -while preparing for other poetry contests.

Do U "Twitter?" ..How bout "Facebook?" With the inception of the internet and social networking came FAD and Addiction. People all across the globe have become obsessed with what is essentially text messaging... at ALL TIMES! -Literally.
It's and addiction -just like anything else that u can't seem to get enough of. Examine it like this ....ya'll remember Black Planet? I mean when that shit was kinda crackin' -we talkin like 02'-03'. People would use that site to actually hook up -which was unheard of during that time period. Once that had gained a tiny bit of wind in its sail -MYSPACE took over! -I mean completely.
Now at this point... like in 05' -it became imperative to have a Myspace page especially if u were an aspiring artist like 99.9% of young people in the world today. The concept of a social networking community with your very own personalized web page where u can upload pics, videos and music... who could've asked for more?! So this was the new trend. Myspace sort of revolutionized shit a lil bit.. see now u had kats getting popular, even discovered from the amount of activity that a persons page may have done. This caught the attention of Record execs and Industry heads from all over the world and as a result this became a direct way of determining who was gonna be the next BIG THING without guessing or doing major research. Myspace was the premiere shit for about the last 4-5yrs. but surprisingly got knocked off of the radar completely by a new social network that would and has put Myspace in the dumpster outback -its name is FACEBOOK.
Not long after Facebook was heralded the new popular site of choice, here comes another one.... and its name is Twitter. Now Twitter has not put Facebook out of business but it does seem to be the most popular shit next to it.
Here's my take- to keep it 100 with ya'll, like my homie Malik from the Zone would say -Twitter... to me is nothing more than texting each other. Everyone for the most part does the shit from their phones anyway.... Where are u? What are u doing at this very moment in time?? What are u doing at every moment in time??? First of all -why? Why does anyone need to now as shit unfolds...? A sort of play by play of the world? This is a bit much.... I mean this shit is just not natural. Is it meant for us to know everything? Life's play by play? I read a study that stated that it is highly unhealthy... especially for younger individuals to Twitter all of the time because it doesn't give your brain a chance to process information correctly and at its normal speed ....which could cause some physical and emotional problems.
Look... I know that everybody is in the MATRIX -as we like to call it- most of the time but try not to be over-excessive with it. People are constantly on this Twitter shit, Yo what are u doing right now? Yo, I'm taking a shit and its really a big one. I mean texting and Twittering while you are driving? Don't do that shit ya'll..... monitor your Twitter -ya dig?
